Frank Coffey
Frank Coffey received a Bachelor of Music degree from Richmond Professional Institute and a Master of Music Education degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Frank served four years as Flute Instructor at the U.S Navy School of Music in Little Creek, Virginia. While serving there, he performed with the Faculty Concert Band and Woodwind Quintet. Frank retired after 30 years of directing instrumental band programs (grades 5-12) in the Appomattox County Public School system . More recently, he has served as an adjunct professor at several local colleges, teaching flute, saxophone, and clarinet.
Frank has performed with many groups in the Lynchburg region, including the Lynchburg Symphony and several wind and mixed ensembles. He is also a highly respected jazz front man, performing on sax, flute, and mandolin.
