Private Music Instructor

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Private Music Instructor to join our educational team. Our Education Department features a variety of music lesson options and we encourage any interested candidates to apply, regardless of which instrument they play. We are specifically in need of instructors who are able to teach woodwinds and/or orchestral strings.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music and a genuine love for teaching students of all ages. This role involves creating a nurturing and engaging environment where students can explore their musical talents, develop their skills, and foster a lifelong appreciation for music. In addition to teaching private music lessons, we are also interested in applicants who are willing to teach/facilitate group lessons. Examples: kindergarten/preschool music, one day workshops, music circles, etc.

Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson that cater to various learning styles and abilities.

  • Teach music theory, instrumental skills, technique, etc. to students of different ages and skill levels.

  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.

  • Organize performances and recitals to showcase student achievements.

  • Maintain an organized classroom environment conducive to learning.

  • Foster a love for music through creative teaching methods and activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years playing instrument being taught, required.

  • Experience working in an educational setting is essential.

  • Strong skills in lesson planning tailored to individual student needs.

  • Organizational and time management skills necessary.

  • Ability to work with people of different personalities and learning abilities.

  • A passion for music and the ability to inspire students through innovative teaching practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field preferred, but not required.
